Best Practices for the Prescribing of Compounded Controlled Substances to Cervid Producers

The Board is aware of the increased use of “BAM” and “MK” kits for practitioners, particularly in working with deer herds. However, because these kits use controlled substances, many common practices around the prescribing of these medications violate both Board rule and statute, as well as federal regulations. To ensure compliance, the Board is issuing the following guidelines and some additional helpful information.
