State Board Exam (SBE)
Overview
The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME) requires veterinary professionals to complete the State Board Examination (SBE) as part of the licensing process. The exam is administered online and must be completed within a specific timeframe.
The Texas State Veterinary Licensing Examination (SBE) are required for all license categories.
- The exam is administered online.
- Approved applicants will receive a candidate ID from TBVME.
- The candidate ID is required to purchase and register for the exam.
- The exam must be completed in one sitting within 10 days of purchase.
Additionally, professionals under a disciplinary Board order may be required to take a Board-Ordered Disciplinary Jurisprudence Exam.
Board-Ordered Disciplinary Jurisprudence Exams
Veterinary professionals subject to a disciplinary Board order may be required to complete an online jurisprudence exam.
- This exam is required ONLY at the direction of TBVME.
- The exam must be purchased and completed only as instructed by the Board.
- After passing, a certificate of completion will be available for download and print.
- The certificate must be submitted to TBVME as proof of completion.
